Web seminar to provide update on hearing protection21 October 2010

3M is giving away its expertise in the field of occupational health and safety through a free web seminar on hearing protection.

The webinar, entitled 'Hearing and derating', will take place from 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Friday 19 November, and is aimed at health and safety managers and PPE (personal protective equipment) specifiers and buyers in all industries where technicians are required to work near sources of noise.

Delivered by 3M technical affairs engineer Sarah Broadbent, it will cover: how the ear works and how it can be damaged; conducting risk assessments and the importance of PPE; and how to choose the correct hearing protection.

Broadbent is a chartered member of IOSH (the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), specialising in noise and hearing protection.
