Hema is a supplier of bellows. The company offers a range of design concepts and materials that allow it to customise each protection system. This applies equally to machine protection, which is planned during system development, as well as to retrofitting, which may become necessary due to changing protection requirements, for example.
The project also provided further proof that bellows can be precisely designed for every specific need.
In the warehouse of a Dutch company, three large scissor lift tables were considered a critical point in terms of occupational safety. An internal walkway leads many employees along this path. The risk of accidentally interfering with the scissor structure, as well as driving under it or improperly setting down pallets, was therefore high. This hazard was eliminated with custom-designed bellows from Hema.
As part of a retrofit, the 1,200 x 4,000 mm lifting tables, which can be extended to a height of 850 mm, were fitted with Elastic series bellows. This product line offers combination options, with basic components, materials, shapes, processing methods, and dimensions tailored to the specific application, attached with metal end frames; alternatively, also Velcro fasteners are available.
The bellows are individually designed to fit the lifting tables precisely and save space, completely enclosing the scissor structure and moving with it. People or objects are effectively prevented from entering the critical area and triggering an emergency stop or causing personal injury or property damage.
