EEMUA publishes new guide to subsea engineering 10 April 2012

The third edition of EEMUA Publication 194 'Guidelines for materials selection and corrosion control for subsea oil and gas production equipment' – just published – reflects significant developments in subsea materials and equipment technology, and operational experience since 2004.

EEMUA 194 is aimed at engineers and others involved in the design, specification, commissioning, operation, maintenance, repair or refurbishment of underwater oil and gas production equipment and related facilities.

It provides an overview of current knowledge of the principles and practices of materials selection and corrosion control, and is the result of significant changes, such as increasing usage of multiphase pumps, separators and water injection equipment.

The Publication was developed by a work group of EEMUA's Materials Technology Committee (MTC), which comprised metallurgists and corrosion engineers, with expertise in the subsea environment, and was drawn from oil and offshore engineering companies.

EEMUA Publication 194, Edition 3 (ISBN 0 85931 188 5) is priced at £177 with a 50% discount available to EEMUA member companies.
