360 degree spy alarm tracks almost anything 29 May 2014

Thermal imaging systems specialist HGH Infrared Systems has launched Spynel-X, the world's highest definition IRST (nfrared search and track) device, capable of capturing full panoramic images in real time to 120 megapixels.

This is a passive wide-area surveillance system with automatic intrusion detection and tracking capabilities for an unlimited number of targets on land, air and sea, and is claimed to function regardless of weather conditions.

Thierry Campos, CEO of HGH Infrared Systems, says that a single Spynel-X sensor can perform 24/7 early human intrusion alerts over a 16km-diameter area and can be quickly deployed and configured.

Thanks to its high-resolution panoramic visualisation, it will identify any threat from any direction, including hardly detectable targets such as: crawling men, low altitude air targets, UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and stealth aircraft.

HGH's Spynel-X replaces up to 90 HD MWIR cameras in one single sensor head and is completely passive.
