Severn Trent and United Utilities extend maintenance contracts 07 July 2010

Severn Trent Water (STW) and United Utilities, which between them supply water to more than half of England, have renewed and extended their plant maintenance contracts with Deritend.

STW has now added gearbox repair and replacements to Deritend's service list across its entire network, while United Utilities has added Archimedes screws to its framework agreement.

Deritend's 20-year partnership with Severn Trent originally covered service, repair, overhaul and replacement of electric motors in treatment plants and pumping stations across the Midlands.

The contract with United Utilities is for five years, with Deritend providing removal, overhaul, repair and reinstatement services for 250 boreholes across the North West – as well as the Archimedes screws.

"The award of these important contract extensions with two flagship utilities companies is testament to the quality of our service provision and the hard work of our teams at Deritend," comments David Hawley, regional manager of Deritend.
