JLR, Vauxhall and Siemens join stellar WM Manufacturing Conference line-up13 November 2013

Jaguar Land Rover, Vauxhall and Siemens will showcase the continuous improvement techniques that have supercharged their success as part of a stellar factory tour line-up at this year's WM Manufacturing Conference (WMMC).

WMMC moves to the North West for 2013 to offer delegates the chance to go lineside at three of UK manufacturing's biggest success stories.

Jaguar's Halewood site will show how workforce-led kaizen helps the factory keep pace with soaring demand for Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander 2 models.

Outstanding employee engagement will be on show at Vauxhall's Ellesmere Port Plant. The site beat off a rival German factory to secure a £125m deal to build the new Astra through an innovative flexible working agreement.

Siemen's Congleton site, which manufactures over 500,000 electronic drives per year, is regarded as a jewel in the crown by the manufacturing giant. Roland Aurich, Siemens chief executive for the UK and North West Europe cluster, told WM: "The site we have at Congleton has, in the face of very tough competition within Siemens where we have manufacturing all over the globe, won the best factory in its category in consecutive years."

WMMC will be held on 20-21 November at Cranage Hall, Cheshire. The conference moves from its traditional home in the Midlands to the North West in the spirit of continuous improvement, said WM editor Max Gosney.
"WMMC is renowned as the antidote to traditional 'death by PowerPoint' conferences. The move will offer readers something fresh and exciting to inspire their own CI plans. It's an incredible opportunity to see inside three factories that fly the flag for UK manufacturing."

Factory tours will take place on 20 November and will be supplemented by keynote addresses and workshop sessions on delivering a world-class CI programme.

Tour places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact Julie Knox on 01322 221144 to avoid disappointment or click the link below:
