Emerson celebrates 10 years of Rosemount 3051S instrumentation 03 November 2011

Instrumentation and control giant Emerson Process Management is celebrating the 10th anniversary of launching its iconic Rosemount 3051S instrumentation – the first scalable platform for integrated pressure, flow and level monitoring.

Mark Schumacher, president of Rosemount Pressure, states that, since its introduction, 3051S has delivered numerous innovations, leading to new levels of performance and diagnostics, based on differential pressure measurement.

The 3051S was also the first scalable WirelessHART (IEC 62591) pressure transmitter, claimed to reduce deployment times by up to 75% by removing the requirement for hard wired connection.

As for instrument diagnostics, the most recent 3051S can monitor the integrity of the electrical loop, including detecting water in the terminal block, ground loop issues, or an unstable power supply.

Other innovations have included the 3051S MultiVariable transmitter, providing measurement of static pressure and process temperature as well as differential pressure – and with advanced compensation technology for mass and energy flow outputs.

"The 3051S raises the bar significantly regarding the expectation for pressure, DP flow and DP level instrumentation," comments Schumacher.

"The level of security, reliability, performance and features brought forth in the 3051S allows our customers to push their processes harder, with more time between maintenance and downtime."
