WEG takes motors from large to ultra-compact at Hanover Fair25 March 2015

Motors and drives giant WEG will be showing equipment from its largest W22X explosion-proof electric motor to ultra-compact water-cooled motors claimed to deliver the same power in a frame size up to two times smaller than competitors’ motors.

"We are dedicated to helping customers reduce energy consumption while making associated cost savings, and have the widest range of energy efficient, green motors on the market – including those that achieve the anticipated IE5 energy efficiency levels," insists Marek Lukaszczyk, European marketing manager.

"WEG is a global expert in explosion-proof motor technology and the new W22X 800 is a testament to our commitment to driving reliability, safety and energy efficiency, even in the most demanding applications such as those found in oil and gas, and mining industries," he adds.

Visitors to WEG's stand will be able to see a trade fair model of the largest motor in the W22 series – the W22X 800 - with rated power up to 5.6MW and operating voltage up to 11kV.

Other product highlights will include the CFW11 series of variable-speed drives in the new size H for the power range of 450—710kW and a new series of electronic motor protection relays rated at 0.4—840A.
