Nord drives pass EN 50598-2 Ecodesign standard tests 26 May 2015

Drives and motors manufacturer Nord Drivesystems says its tests on components and systems manufactured in-house meet or exceed the requirements of the EN 50598-2 standard.

The standard defines efficiency classes for frequency inverters and motor starters – for example: IE2 (high efficiency) and IE3 (premium efficiency).

Following the same pattern, system efficiency is rated IES2, etc, and Nord's current testing shows power losses significantly below the reference values in the EN 50598-2 standard both for the inverters themselves and for power drive systems (PDS) combining inverters and energy-efficient motors.
