New compressors bring six percent energy savings at Vernacare 09 January 2013

2012 Best Factory Award winner Vernacare, which manufactures products to manage human waste disposal, says that the installation of two new compressors is cutting plant energy consumption by 6%.

The Bolton-based company chose Thorite compressors – one HPC 90kW fixed-speed CSDX162 plus an HPC 110kW variable speed model DSD202.

Both are located in the main production plant and, according to Vernacare engineering manager Graeme Topping, are also significantly reducing maintenance costs and downtime.

currently saving Vernacare over 6% in energy useage while providing trouble-free performance.

"As part of our on-going site energy reduction plan, the new HPC compressors have performed superbly and achieved significant energy savings," confirms Topping.

"We are also now benefiting from lower energy bills, reduced service costs and outstanding machine reliability – and having agreed a five-year 'total care' service contract, I'm confident that this situation is set to continue."
