New CEO for West Midlands Manufacturing Consortium 05 October 2012

Lorraine Holmes has been appointed new chief executive of the West Midlands Manufacturing Consortium (WMMC), which delivers the Manufacturing Advisory Service in the West Midlands, North West and North East of England.

She brings with her considerable experience in helping SMEs to grow and an industrial career that spans more than 18 years with Henkel Chemicals and Ameron.

Holmes will be responsible for the continued roll-out of the enhanced MAS service and in developing WMMC's portfolio of products and services.

"WMMC, through our involvement in MAS and other activities, has a vital role to play in providing the specialist support that manufacturing SMEs need in order to maximise these opportunities, solve everyday business issues and future proof themselves against changes in the market," comments Holmes.

"We've extended our offer, so it's much more than just lean process improvements. This is about providing a total solution to manufacturers and this could include help with strategy, sales and marketing or peer-to-peer collaboration," she adds.
