LEEA strengthens TEAM card with online training 23 March 2015

LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) has unveiled an online renewal system aimed at helping to ensure that its TEAM card registrants retain professional competence.

When TEAM cards reach the end of their three year lifespan, card holders (overhead lifting equipment engineers) must now undertake an online refresher training course before a new one is issued.

Launched in 2009, TEAM cards are available only to employees of LEEA member companies that have passed the industry-recognised diploma qualification for the test, examination and maintenance of overhead lifting equipment.

LEEA urges all employers to insist that staff undertaking LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) mandated thorough examination of lifting equipment use TEAM card-holding competent engineers.

"We are determined that the TEAM card remains a rigorous method of identifying properly qualified workers in the overhead lifting sector," states Andrew Wright, learning and development manager for LEEA.

"The new online renewal process ensures that holders are still engaged with LEEA's CPD programme, and will provide a convenient opportunity to maintain and further enhance their knowledge."
