Atlas Copco VSD compressors promise 35% energy savings 23 April 2015

Atlas Copco’s latest oil-injected rotary screw compressor – the GA 110-160 VSD – promises to cut energy costs by up to 35%.

Mark Ranger, business manager at the company's oil-free air division, says adding VSD (variable speed drive) technology to the GA 90+-160 range, will not only save plant managers in terms of energy, but also cut life cycle costs by an average of 22%, compared to fixed speed machines.

"In today's industrial environment, our customers are looking for solutions that improve sustainability, efficiency and productivity, while lowering operational risk," says Ranger, explaining the new development.

In addition to the VSD, this oil-injected rotary screw compressor range comes equipped with energy-saving features including an IE3 motor, no-loss water separator drain and energy recovery module.
