Atlas Copco appoints new GM for compressors07 November 2022

Ariel Rubenstein

Atlas Copco has appointed Ariel Rubinstein as general manager, compressor technique UK & Ireland. He replaces Alexander Pavlov, who has moved to the company’s centre in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Commenting on his plans for his new role in the company, Ariel Rubinstein said: “My focus will be on three main aspects. Firstly, in leading our team in delivering value to current and future customers in the UK and Ireland. We can add value by offering smarter and more energy-efficient compressed air and industrial gas equipment, which help users achieve optimal equipment uptime and reduce their energy consumption.”

“Atlas Copco has a clear drive towards developing products to support green energy applications which protect the environment and society,” Rubinstein went on to say. “You can expect to see an increased focus on hydrogen compressors and on oxygen generators for biogas production, for example. My mission is to grow the company sustainably through direct and indirect channels as well as considering acquisitions which would allow us to increase our presence and service to better support our clients wherever they are.”

Ariel has a background as an industrial engineer from the Merchant Navy University and a post-academic degree in business economics at Materiabiz in Argentina. He joined Atlas Copco Argentina in 2004 as a service engineer. In 2005 he became responsible for service for the compressors business in Argentina. After serving from 2007 until 2008 as aftermarket manager, he was appointed in 2008 as business line manager for compressor technique service.

In 2011, Rubenstein left the group to become service & engineering manager for Toyota Material Handling Mercosur. He returned two years later as general manager of Atlas Copco Argentina. In 2019, Ariel moved to Atlas Copco Compressors Canada as general manager.

On taking up his new role, Rubenstein comments: “I am proud to be joining an experienced and professional team in the UK & Ireland, and I genuinely believe that our people are the engine of our strategy. Therefore, we will continue to capitalise on competence development and talent management within the company.”
