Amarinth gains Petronas approved vendor status 09 May 2011

Petronas has granted approved vendor status to specialist API 610 centrifugal pumps manufacturer Amarinth, which serves the industrial, chemical and petrochemical industries.

Announcing the achievement, Oliver Brigginshaw, managing director of Amarinth, also said that his company has signed Geveke Oil & Gas Malaysia as its regional agent.

With its new certification and agent, Amarinth will be able to offer equipment into the majority of the oil and gas projects in Malaysia.

Amarinth and Netherlands-based Geveke have worked on major projects in other parts of the world for many years and both say they have now identified Malaysia as a significant opportunity for oil and gas projects.

"We have been looking to move into the Malaysian market for some time," comments Brigginshaw.

"On approval we immediately received a number of good quality enquiries that we are now following up," he adds.

Together, the companies will now provide EPC contractors in the region, such as SBM, Ranhill Worley and Aker – with all of which Amarinth already works closely in other parts of the world – with centrifugal horizontal and vertical API 610 pumps.
