National Forklift Safety Convention programme unveiled28 August 2018

The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has revealed the programme for its 15th National Forklift Safety Convention – taking place on 3 October at the Heart of England Events and Conference Centre in Coventry.

Delegates at this year’s event will learn how to develop a safer culture, understand parallels between safety and combat, and hear a real-life account from a forklift accident survivor.

The programme sets out a day of real-life case studies, motivational speakers and peer-to-peer networking. Speakers include:

Dr Tim Marsh – ‘Behavioural Approach’ – considered a world authority on behavioural safety, safety leadership and organisational culture, Tim’s grounded demeanour and rich experience make him an unmissable voice at this year’s event.

Stewart Hill FCMI – ‘Warehouse or Warzone’ – Ex-Army Officer, artist and leadership expert Stewart shares a candid discussion as he explores the parallels between warehouse and warzone. Expect some surprising revelations in this inspiring talk.

Lisa Ramos – ‘Interviewed by Rebecca Morden’ – Back by popular demand – hear Lisa’s story first-hand as she discusses the severe, life-changing consequences negligence can cause, as well as lessons learnt from her recent lift truck tours.

Attendees will also have the chance to explore two safe site case studies, including a look at the UK’s largest builders’ merchants Travis Perkins.

FLTA chief executive Peter Harvey says: “It’s an honour to have the likes of Tim Marsh, Stewart Hill and, of course, Lisa Ramos join us for our 15th Safety Convention. I’d also like to thank our sponsor and media partner for helping make this happen.”

Responding to popular demand, this year’s event will also feature an expanded forklift safety exhibition. Tickets are priced at £130 for Members and £180 for Non-Members.
