HVAC energy efficiency inspections now mandatory 12 April 2011

It is now a legal requirement for owners and operators to have air-conditioning systems inspected once every five years for energy efficient operation.

This includes simple split air-conditioning systems and is in addition to routine maintenance and F-Gas inspections, and follows the final implementation in England and Wales of the EU EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive).

Stephen Lundy, of Axion Energy Solutions, makes the point that iIt is the person who controls the operation of each system who is responsible for complying with this legislation.
