Brand-Rex awards ERIKS five year MRO contract31 March 2011

Cabling systems firm Brand-Rex has awarded a five-year, single-supplier MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) contract to Eriks Integrated Solutions Division to cover its Glenrothes manufacturing site.

On the build-up to the contract, Eriks has been installing dedicated resources on site and has already improved Brand-Rex's stores and maintenance operations.

"We are now operating the stores to 5S standards, which gives us greater visibility and traceability and ensures that we have the right stock, in the right volumes at the right time," states Alasdair Stronach, Eriks' business unit manager.

Stronach says that has resulted in no significant increase in stock holding. "Not only does this save money but it also makes all elements of the maintenance campaign more efficient," he adds.
