Bosch Rexroth joins Manufacturing Technology Centre 29 October 2014

Bosch Rexroth is the latest company to join the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), in Coventry, which brings together manufacturers and the universities of Birmingham, Nottingham and Loughborough, with TWI (the Welding Institute).

Bosch Rexroth, which specialises in drives and controls for factory automation, machinery and renewable, says it will be providing expertise for several of MTC's live projects, while also working with members including Rolls Royce, BAE Systems and Airbus.

"Our aim is to provide a competitive environment to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions, in line with the government's manufacturing strategy," states MTC chief executive Clive Hickman.

"We look forward to Bosch Rexroth becoming involved in many of our live projects and forming a close working partnership with the company,"

And Paul Bowden, vice president of sales for Bosch Rexroth UK (pictured) , adds: "There are clear synergies between many of our own areas of manufacturing expertise – automotive, aerospace, food, packaging and general automation – and the MTC's areas of focus.

"We believe this common ground will enable us to provide the highest levels of engineering expertise to support the MTC and its work."
