Wiring regulations update due out in January 2015 17 September 2014

The IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2008, incorporating Amendment 3:2015, will be available in January 2015 in print and online.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) says that this third amendment will include several important changes, particularly to the electrical condition report section.

It will also cover new requirements for mobile and transportable electrical devices and changes for the installation of luminaires and light fittings – bringing them in line with the latest international and European standards.

The amended IET Wiring Regulations will include the new Regulation 421.1.200, covering consumer units and similar switchgear assemblies which now have to comply with BS EN 61439-3, with enclosures manufactured from non-combustible material and comply with Regulation 132.12.
