Vehicle scissor lift safety warning28 February 2022

The Saturnus EV 40, 45 & 50 vehicle scissor lift, manufactured 2014-2018, has been recalled, as it does not comply with the Supply of Machinery Regulations 2008.

According the government's Office for Product Safety & Standards, the scissor lift, which may also be branded OMA, may have a weakness in a weld. The manufacturer has provided a kit which should be fitted to the scissor lift. The manufacturer has issued instructions to avoid using the lift with a load exceeding 3.5 tonnes until the kit has been fitted. While awaiting the fitting of the kit, a 4.5t lift catastrophically failed with a load of 2.5t.

The Office for Product Safety & Standards, end users should stop using the scissor lift immediately until the manufacturer’s kit has been fitted. It advises that they Contact Tecalemit Garage Equipment on 01752 219100 to arrange supply and installation of the kit.
