Sponsors announced for UK’s biggest skills event 29 October 2012

The Skills Show 2012 has welcomed several leading industry sponsors for what it describes as the UK's biggest skills and careers event.

Buck and Hickman, DMG, Lincoln Electric, Festo and Car O Liner have all signed up as official sponsors to the Skills Show, taking place from 15—17 November at the NEC, Birmingham.

The Skills Show is an annual celebration aimed at inspiring young people to find out more about opportunities in further education, skills and apprenticeships.

It also provides opportunities for visitors to 'have a go' at new skills, get careers advice and access apprenticeships or real job opportunities from employers.

This year, the Skills Show will highlight engineering and manufacturing, and visitors will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience.

Lincoln Electric, for example, will be giving young people the chance to learn basic welding techniques using a virtual welding system. Car O Liner will be encouraging visitors to have a go at autobody repair, including the chance to re-align a car using Bluetooth technologies.
