Sellafield awards Eriks four-year mechanical spares supply contract 24 November 2011

Sellafield, the company responsible for safely decommissioning and reprocessing and nuclear waste on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, has awarded Eriks a four-year main supply contract for mechanical plant spares.

The contract covers the supply of valves, pumps, bearings, power transmissions, seals and gaskets, and commences on 1 January 2012, and will not only service Sellafield but also support other NDA locations in the UK, from Dounreay to Dungeness.

"We supplied bearings and mechanical power transmission equipment to Sellafield when we were known as Wyko," states David Arbuthnott, corporate key accounts director for Eriks UK.

"Since Eriks acquired Wyko in 2006, we have added some specialist flow technology businessses with real, in-depth technical knowledge to the UK portfolio, which stood us in good stead for this new contract," he continues.

Key to these, for Arbuthnott, are Eriks' expansion into the valves, pumps, seals and gasket product arenas.
