Norbar opens production facility in Banbury21 September 2012

Norbar Torque Tools opened its new premises in Banbury this week (19 September) with an on-site party for employees and guests, including Banbury MP Sir Tony Baldry, the Mayor of Banbury Cllr Tony Ilott and the chairman of Cherwell District Council, Cllr Colin Clarke.

Norbar specialises in the design, development and production of torque tightening and measuring equipment, exporting 75% of its output to markets worldwide.

The 170,000 sq ft production site is more than three times the size of Norbar's present Banbury head office and factory at Beaumont Road and managing director Neill Brodey says it will allow the firm to expand manufacturing output to meet increased demand.

The move is being phased, with the two units running concurrently until project completion in 2015. The expansion will mean more local employment at Norbar, which has already increased its workforce this year by 25 to 260.
