Maersk Oil UK selects ESR Technology for Aberdeen QRA work09 November 2012

ESR Technology has been awarded a five-year technical safety framework by Maersk Oil UK to provide quantitative risk assessment (QRA).

The contract, estimated to be worth around £1 million, also includes additional safety studies for all Maersk Oil's assets in the North Sea.

"This win is a rewarding demonstration of the quality and competitiveness that ESR offers by drawing on its 20 years of experience in the technical safety arena," comments ESR's Aberdeen office manager Terry Atkinson.

The new contract is the latest of several for ESR Technology in the North Sea oil and gas market, following its acquisition by Hyder Consulting in 2011.

Other contracts have come from a range of operators and top tier contractors, and include studies covering: QRA, CFD (computational fluid dynamics), fire deluge studies, HAZID (hazard identification), HAZOP (hazard and operability), SIL (safety integrity level), spray mist risk assessment and performance reviews.
