JCB moves into site welfare mobile units 14 August 2013

Construction giant JCB has signed a deal with site welfare units designer Garic that now sees it manufacturing eco-friendly welfare units under licence for the construction industry.

JCB Eco Welfare Units are primarily powered by solar panels, supported by a bespoke 12V super-silent back-up generator.

JCB claims they reduce C02 emissions by as much as 80%, compared with conventional plant, and deliver fuel cost savings of up to £150 per week.

"With the launch of the JCB Eco Welfare Unit, we are entering a new market with an industry-leading product that complements our existing range of plant," asserts John Atkinson, director and general manager, JCB Consumer Products.

"It will enable firms to supply a secure, comfortable space for employees, while reducing operating costs," he adds.

"We have worked closely with the JCB team to design a bespoke unit that meets the highest standards of quality, which are synonymous with the JCB brand," comments Garic finance director Gary Greall.

"Both companies are proud to offer the most versatile, secure and eco-friendly mobile welfare unit on the market."
