In-house centres to develop technical competence 05 February 2014

TPM (total productive maintenance) and lean maintenance consultancy MCP is offering in-house training centres aimed at assessing and improving engineering maintenance skills.

The maintenance training specialist says it has been working with "a number of well known companies across the food, drink, pharmaceutical and car manufacturing sectors".

A spokesperson explains that it sets up centres of excellence within organisations to support and sustain targeted skills development programmes.

MCP's trainers also address safety issues, ensuring that staff are technically competent to work within their area of competence.

A suite of assessments and interviews has now been developed addressing generic skills for maintenance technicians. These cover: safe isolation; fault finding using instruments; inverter set up and commissioning; PLC fault finding; and electrical theory.
