Improved training to assure quality for plant managers 01 February 2011

Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies has improved its Solution Partners programme, with more training to deliver what it claims to be "the highest level of quality and competence".

"We are committed to delivering the highest quality solutions and products to businesses, but we can only do this by ensuring the companies that specify and install our technology have a detailed understanding of the products and how they can perform," explains Stephen Hughes, general manager at Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies.

"It is for this reason that we have enhanced our Solution Partners programme to ensure that any company specifying or installing a Siemens product, will do so to the highest quality standards and have the expertise to recommend the most suitable solution for any given requirement," he adds.

Hughes insists that in a tough market, plant managers need access to the best, and most efficient and advanced solutions and services, while also reducing their exposure to risk. "It is for this reason that we've enhanced our programme to make sure we are totally confident in the abilities of our partners to deliver such a service," he says.

Guaranteeing that level of capability is being achieved, he says, by demanding that two engineers from each partner be tested and certified by Siemens on each area of Siemens' 24 programme modules – renewable every two years.

The modules cover areas from Siemens' automation systems, from Simatic to drives, industrial energy efficiency and micro automation.
