Terex Port Solutions (TPS) has launched four new container handling forklift trucks.

Following up the recent launch of its Liftace 5-31 reach stacker with the introduction of four new generation lift trucks. The Terex Stackace E 5-8, E 6-8, E 6-9 and E 7-9 empty container handlers replace existing TPS models, combining the strengths of their respective predecessors with many new features. The Stackace lift trucks are cost effective, easily serviced and ergonomic. The compact container handlers feature a user friendly cab design and offer ease of manoeuvrability. The machines have a maximum load capacity of 8 or 9 t. They offer low fuel consumption and simple access to all maintenance points.

With a wheelbase of 4,000 or 4,500 mm, the Stackace empty container handlers achieve stacking heights of between 1-over-4 and 1-over-6 standard empty 8' 6" containers. The maximum lifting speed has been increased by almost 30%. Klaus Peter Hoffmann, Vice President & Managing Director TPS stated: "The improved lifting speed is only one example of the added value, which we are offering customers. Our productive Stackace machines help terminal operators accelerate processes in terminals and handle containers even more efficiently than before."

Despite the significant increase in performance, the fuel consumption of the four new Stackace empty container handlers has been considerably reduced. This is due to a modern drive train combined with a load sensitive hydraulic system. It is possible to further reduce fuel consumption by using the optional Eco-Mode package. In addition to the EcoPower operating mode, the Eco-Mode package includes an automatic engine cut out and lights off function. The low tyre wear also contributes to life cycle cost reduction. The machines have well-tuned interplay of the engine and gearbox with the drive axle, together with optimised load distribution.

In the development of the new empty container handlers, TPS has combined proprietary modules with high quality components from renowned suppliers. The chassis, spreader and mast are manufactured TPS, whilst state-of-the-art engines are sourced from Volvo and Cummins. Rugged and durable components ensure increased machine availability and extended maintenance intervals. All maintenance points are easily accessible for simple service regimes and minimum downtime.

The particularly rugged construction of the mast eliminates the need for cross-shaped bracings, which together with the high cab position, results in an improved forward view for the operator. Drivers benefit from the intuitive control and visualisation system with ergonomic joystick and graphic display, designed specifically for Terex lift trucks. TPS offers a range of options, including an automated driver identification system, reversing sensors and a camera system.
