Fluke IR windows offer ultimate protection for high-energy inspectors22 November 2013

More than 99% of all arc flash incidents occur when a panel door is open, exposing workers to potentially lethal amounts of energy.

That's the latest shocking statistic from Fluke, which is using it to make the point of the value of its new ClirVu CV series infrared windows, which eliminate the need to open panel door to take thermographic camera readings.

"And, with an installation time of five minutes or less, there's no excuse not to protect workers' safety," says the company.

Fluke states that its new device offers ultimate protection for electricians, engineers and inspectors who work around high-energy equipment.

It also says they are 'Torture Tested' to the highest arc blast test ratings and, when properly installed, maintain a panel arc test rating of up to 63kA.

Once installed, there's no need to power down or remove panels – inspections can be conducted quickly, easily, and, most importantly, safely, often with little, if any, personal protective equipment.
