Fluid check service claims to eliminate premature failure07 January 2015

The UK's largest independent lubricants manufacturer Exol Lubricants has launched a fluid analysis service that it says will help eliminate the risk of machines failing prematurely.

Steve Dunn, Exol Lubricant's sales director, explains that the firm's Fluid Check allows operators to regularly monitor the condition of their machine lubricant – using a supplied sampling pack – and hence detect contaminants types and wear issues.

Operators simply draw samples of fluid from their machines and send them to Exol for testing. The results are then posted to a secure web portal and if the fluid needs to be changed, operators can schedule maintenance intervention.

"Operators often don't check the quality of the lubricant in their machine at regular intervals but that's mainly because there isn't an easy, no hassle system in place to facilitate that," explains Dunn.

"Our Fluid Check service aims to overcome that problem by making it really easy to get a rapid and clear picture of the quality of the fluid. If there is a deterioration in fluid quality likely to cause a failure, Fluid Check will identify the problem and flag it up."
