Engineering Council withdraws IDGTE license 08 December 2014

The Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers (IDGTE) has had its licence withdrawn by the Engineering Council with immediate effect, "due to a number of concerns".

The ruling by the Engineering Council's Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) means that IDGTE can no longer assess members for inclusion on the national register of professional engineers and technicians.

For members of IDGTE currently registered as (EngTech) to retain their professional status, the organisation is following the recommendation by QAC to apply for approval as a Professional Affiliate (PA) of the Engineering Council.

Once approved, IDGTE will be able to set up the relevant registration agreement with one of the licensed institutions to register members through that institution.
