Emerson expands Micro Motion Elite Coriolis flowmeters 17 May 2013

A compact, drainable version of Emerson's Micro Motion Elite Coriolis flowmeters has been introduced to deliver ultra-precise measurement in tough applications involving smaller line sizes.

The firm's new CMFS sensor platform runs down to pipelines of less than DN50, with nine sensor sizes and three footprints. It is rated to ±0.05% liquid flow mass and volume accuracy, ±0.25% gas accuracy and ±0.0002 g/cc density accuracy for flow rates of 1kg/h to 54,000kg/h.

The meter also offers substantial rangeability with a turndown ratio of 30:1, and is claimed to take changing densities, pressures, temperatures and viscosities in its stride.

For corrosive and high pressure applications, these meters come in 316L stainless steel and nickel alloy C22, rated to 413 bar, while for cryogenic and high temperature applications, the meter handles process temperatures from -240°C to 204°C.

Optional 316L polished exteriors make the meters suitable for sanitary, hygienic and offshore installations. In addition, they are 3A and EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group) approved with 15 and 32 Ra surface finish options.

They also offer digital communications, including HART, Foundation fieldbus, Profibus PA, Profibus DP, Modbus and EtherNet/IP.
