Edwards wins chemical dry pump order from China 30 September 2011

Vacuum pumps specialist Edwards has won an order worth more than £190,000 to supply chemical dry vacuum pump systems to adhesives manufacturer Bostik.

Bostik believes that by using Edwards' systems it will be able to make operational cost savings while optimising its process and also reducing carbon emissions at its adhesives plant in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China.

The contract follows an order for two dry pumping systems last year and an in-depth competitive evaluation, which found Edwards' equipment best able to withstand its harsh processes.

The dry pump systems include the HV3000, HV8000 and CDX1000 vacuum pumps, which claim significant advantages over alternative wet technologies, such as steam ejectors.

According to Liam Crimmins, regional sales manager for Asia at Edwards, these pumps feature low energy usage and utility costs, no contamination of the process stream or cooling water and no effluent generation.
