Brammer celebrates UK manufacturing excellence07 October 2013

Maintenance, repair and overhaul specialist, Brammer has marked the best of British manufacturing at its 2013 Manufacturing Forum and Awards in Manchester.

Manufacturing winners included Pepsico, Royal Mint and Siemens at the Brammer Awards, which recognise market leading MRO standards.

Siemens scooped the Buck & Hickman Supplier Relationship Award for an intiative that helped reduce the number of suppliers to Siemens UK businesses from 692 to 300. Tata Steel was Highly Commended in the category.

The Royal Mint won the Reduced Working Capital through Inventory Management accolade after working with Brammer and its workforce to standardise the use of protective gloves on site. The intiative saved over £20,000 and has fueled improvements in factory safety standards, the Brammer Awards heard.

He added: "The judging process was, as always, very tough, with entries of a very high standard, leading us to create for the first time a 'highly commended' award. Our congratulations go to all the winners and highly commended entries."
