Black Sheep brewery rates Boge compressor09 July 2010

Black Sheep Brewery in Masham, North Yorkshire is reporting excellent performance over a four year period from a Boge SD 40 screw compressor it installed to power a then new cask filling line.

Alan Dunn, head brewer at Black Sheep, says the brewery had already been using a Boge SD 15 screw compressor for its machine and valve actuation.

"We rely on the efficiency of our cask line in getting over 80,000 pints of Black Sheep ales and bitters out of the door every day," comments Dunn.

"The SD 40 has proven to be very reliable and efficient. As the casks are filled, a dedicated supply of sterile air compresses the build-up of foam. This speeds up the filling process and facilitates the prompt turnaround of casks," he explains.

He also refers to the built in refrigerant dryer, which ensures a small footprint keeping the space requirement to a minimum and ensures that there are no additional assembly or installation costs required for a stand alone dryer.
