Big names sign up for industrial drives management service 26 November 2012

SEW Eurodrive is reporting that its Complete Drives Management (CDM) service has already attracted some of the biggest names in manufacturing.

Since its launch in 2011, manufacturers inc including Coca Cola, Rolls Royce, BMW, Mars, Gillette, Next, Lafarge and Unilever have signed up.

CDM combines the maintenance of industrial drives with an online database that retains each unit's history. It also provides an overview of every drive in a factory, or group of factories, so that plant engineers can query everything from current drive condition to maintenance schedules.

According to SEW Eurodrive's UK service manager Karl Rigg, the service streamlines, simplifies and increases the efficiency of a plant's drive maintenance regime.

It can reduce downtime, cut unnecessary stock, identify potential problems in advance, and target older drive technology that could be replaced to improve energy efficiency, he says.

"The service gives users complete knowledge of all the drive technology in their factories in a way that has never before been possible," states Rigg.

"Because CDM is an interface it's a bit like having SEW Eurodrive in your factory all the time."'
