Atlas Copco acquires bolt-tightening specialist 25 November 2013

Atlas Copco has acquired West Bromwich-based Tentec, which develops bolt-tightening equipment, for an undisclosed sum.

Tentec, which was founded in 1988 and specialises in hydraulic bolt tensioners, has 65 employees and recorded 2012 revenues as £9.8 million.

Its tools, which are used in the assembly of heavy equipment, are sold globally, particularly into the oil and gas, mining and power generation industries.

Mats Rahmström, business area president for Atlas Copco Industrial Technique, says the acquisition broadens Atlas Copco's portfolio in these important sectors.

"This will help enhance customers' productivity and assembly process quality," states Rahmström.
