Leading industrialists, politicians and academics will gather on September 29 in Stuttgart for Forcam’s twelfth international productivity congress.

Looking at the latest development in Smart Factory, Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), the event will combine keynote speakers, panel discussions and case studies. Leading manufacturers such as ABB, Audi, Bosch, Liebherr and Volkswagen have already committed to attend. Mann & Hummel, suppliers of advanced filtration systems and a Forcam Force user, are the hosts for the event.

Pioneering academics addressing the gathering include Professor Dr Jay Lee of the University of Cincinnati, Professor Dr Ing Volker Bräutigam of the University of Würzburg–Schweinfurt. They will be joined by manufacturing specialists from Mann & Hummel, Bühler AG, National Oil Well Varco and others for a lively discussion of best practice in industry and to examine the next options for productivity enhancement.

Principal sponsor for the event, Forcam, is the developer of Forcam Force, the software system that enables intelligence to be gathered from the factory shop floor, processed in real time and re-presented in role-relevant format to operators, supervisors and managers. This enables timely interventions to increase productivity by better asset utilisation, minimisation of waste and improving the yield of quality product. Typical productivity gains of 20 per cent are common in the first year of implementing this system, with many users then using the system as a basis for continuous improvement programmes and to provide essential real time data to SAP or other ERP systems.
