ABB University relocates to Staffordshire 05 July 2011

ABB's centre of excellence for training has relocated from Telford to a new purpose-built facility in Stone, Staffordshire – one of the company's main UK facilities.

"The Stone site brings size and scale and helps future proof the training centre," states Arthur Charlesworth, training centre manager.

"We are now in a main stream ABB facility. This location has enabled us to build relationships within the power systems and power products businesses, broadening the role of ABB University outside of its traditional process automation environment," he adds.

Charlesworth says the ABB University is "critical to the success of our business". Customers, he points out expect excellent support for their products and systems, and hence the importance of the training centre – both to fulfil on the requirement and to demonstrate the commitment.

Although the site is still being developed, the training facility will eventually feature several classrooms, with projection facilities and interactive laboratories, a large auditorium and hands-on demonstration units for most ABB products and systems.
