3M goes for bearing market with Godiva 11 June 2010

Engineering adhesives firm 3M has signed a deal with Godiva Bearings to supply its Scotch-Weld products alongside major manufacturers' bearings.

Instant adhesives, threadlockers, pipe sealants, gasket adhesives and cleaning products are all included, and Godiva, which operates in Shepperton, Dudley and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, says it is a good fit.

"Many companies requiring bearings also have a need for engineering adhesives. This link-up will allow our customers to offer a more complete package to those end users," comments Paul Cuthill of Godiva Bearings.

Faye Wilson, of 3M's Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division, adds: "The Scotch-Weld range has been specifically developed for demanding engineering and manufacturing environments and so the link with Godiva is a natural one, given their own prowess in supplying the needs of the UK's major bearing distributors."
