GHD employees join UAE Multi-Nation Business Continuity Task Force28 July 2020

Two UAE-based employees at services company GHD have been selected to be part of the UAE Multi-Nation Business Continuity Task Force to help get the country back to business.

Salma Bin Breik, advisory lead - UAE, is joining the Digital Economy working group, while Dion Collier, manager for engineering services, is joining the Food Security working group.

The Task Force was established in June by 25 business councils and chambers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, representing more than 6,500 companies, in response to business pressures brought about by Covid-19.

The 17 different working groups cover all aspects of the UAE economy, ranging from cross-sector, policy-focused groups, such as digital economy, supply chain and communications, to sector specific areas, such as defence, energy, food security and healthcare.

The aim is to work collaboratively with the UAE government to identify and mitigate business continuity challenges, in order to stimulate a robust post-pandemic business environment. The Task Force will meet regularly and provide updates and tactical information to the government in the coming months.

David Kinniburgh, GHD’s regional general manager for UAE, says: “We are honoured to have GHD people at the forefront of the economic recovery in the UAE. Being selected by the wider business community for these working groups reflects Dion’s and Salma’s reputations in the industry, their diverse skillsets and commercial acumen. Their efforts will help to strengthen the post-pandemic business environment and show that the UAE remains a leading business hub.”
