Fivefold growth brings plant MRO facilities to Kings Lynn25 February 2011

As a result of an astonishing fivefold growth in its business over the past four years, Erks' Kings Lynn distribution branch has moved to new, much larger facilities.

As well as the existing plant equipment sales operation, the new site also has an electromechanical workshop and an electronic repair cell.

Jonathan Read, Eriks regional operations manager, says the new services not only bring specialist skills to the area, but will also increase employment in the area.

"At a time when many companies are still downsizing and reducing staff, I am delighted that we have been able to do the exact opposite, states Read.

"I think the team has completely justified this investment, with the superb business growth over the past four years being the primary driver," he adds.

The 12,000 sqft facility's workshop is taking on repairs of electric motors, gearboxes, pumps and associated equipment, while the electronics repair cell looks after inverter, PCB, HDMI boards and power supply repairs.

"For the first time, local businesses will have access to engineering services on their doorstep that you would normally only expect to find in large cities," comments Darren Waterfield, Eriks' Kings Lynn general manager.

"This is an exciting time and we are looking forward to delivering our know-how to help local businesses grow and develop."
